The Daily Life of People in Bangkok

Hi!

The daily life of a street food vendor starts very early and ends very late. Street food vendors start their day very early because they need to prepare all the food for the day. Their day usually starts at four in the morning.

From there, they usually make and sell food the whole day, until maybe 11 or 12 at night. Then, that night (super early morning?), they usually buy the ingredients for the next day. This means that street food vendors' day ends around one or two in the morning.

This means that a food vendor's day starts at four in the morning, and ends around twelve or one in the morning. On average, this probably gives them around four hours of sleep each night. I think that this shows how hardworking the vendors are.

Every time I pass by any street vendor, they are always busy making new food. A lot of Thai food is fried, so a lot of the time that I pass by, the vendors are usually making and frying their food. Unfortunately, there is so much street food that I rarely get it since there are so many options, however, I do wish to eat more of it.

So many people eat street food, that there is almost always somebody at a food stall. For example, there is a smoothie place that makes smoothies with fresh fruit near our university, and whenever my friend and I go get a smoothie there, there is almost always a line of people waiting to get smoothies.

Street food is so incredibly popular in Thailand, that I'm sure most locals get street food after their work because it is everywhere and so easy to get. Street food is also so much cheaper than food you can get anywhere else.

If a meal on average costs you 60 baht ($2) in a common Thai restaurant, then street food usually costs you 10-30 baht ($0.33-$1). Overall, street food is better than food you can get anywhere else, You just have to make sure to get it from a place that seems at least somewhat sanitary, and not facing the street, so the food isn't contaminated with the fumes from the vehicles.

The street vendors aren't the only ones who are always busy. In Thailand, there are "official" motorbike riders that can drive you anywhere you want. These motorbikers are always busy taking people to and fro places.

Because motorbikes are so maneuverable, they are Thailand's most popular form of transportation. There are by far more motorbikes in Thailand than cars or any other vehicle. Due to this, motorbikers are also always very busy.
